Registration happens entirely on NordVPN's own website, nordvpn.com (opens in a new tab), or in its apps, not here. NordVPN uses a single login called the Nord Account, which also covers the other Nord Security services (NordPass and NordLocker): one email address and one password for everything.1
What you need
- An email address you can access right away – the registration link is sent there
- A payment method accepted at checkout
- The device you want to protect, so you can install the app and log in straight away
Step by step
- Open nordvpn.com and choose a plan.1
- Enter your details and complete the payment. Use the email address you want to log in with later.1
- Check your inbox. NordVPN sends a Nord Account registration link to the email address you used.1
- Click the link and create a password. This completes your Nord Account.1
- Download the NordVPN app for your device and log in with your email address and the new password.1
- Optional: switch on multi-factor authentication in your Nord Account settings for extra protection of the login.3
Account creation is handled by Nord Security. If the registration email does not arrive, check the spam, junk or promotions folders; NordVPN's help centre suggests allowing mail from the nordaccount.com domain. The exact steps can differ slightly from country to country, so follow the instructions NordVPN shows you during registration.
Good to know
- Use the same email address for the purchase and the account; the registration link is tied to it.
- If you received a 25-character activation code instead, go to the Nord Account activation page, enter the code and your email address, confirm the verification code that NordVPN emails you and then create your password.2
- With an activation code, setting up automatic renewal is optional; NordVPN notes that without it you lose access to the servers once the period runs out.2
